Nature's interwoven web sustains life on our planet, with animals, plants, people, and other species interacting with one another and the natural environment around them, which includes forests, rivers, seas, coastlines, and grasslands. The balance of interactions within and between ecosystems is what makes sure there is enough biodiversity for the planet and for us to live.
To effect change toward sustainability and equality across and within societies via innovative ideas and solutions. Engage in lively campaigns to raise awareness, mobilize people, and form alliances with other groups, therefore connecting grassroots, national, and global fights.
Inspiring one another and harnessing, strengthening, and complementing one another's talents; living the change we want to see and working together in solidarity.
Human activity in the framework of a globalized economic system focused on perpetual extraction, production, and consumption without regard for planetary limits drives biodiversity loss. In reality, humans has decreased biodiversity to such an extent that around one million species of wild animals and plants are now threatened with extinction, many within decades.
The typical reaction of humanity to biodiversity is conservation, a method predicated on maintaining nature solely to the extent that it benefits to our economy. This reduction of nature to "ecosystem services" and the associated processes of financialization drain nature of its inherent social, cultural, and spiritual qualities and lead to its future destruction.
We advocate at the national level, assisting our member organizations in their efforts to influence legislation and implement local solutions to safeguard forests and biodiversity. We collaborate with local communities and Indigenous peoples to protect forests, promote community rights, and forest management. In our struggle for a sustainable future for all people, we must immediately defend the forest.
